Auckland, New Zealand - March 31, 2026 - Datacom has acquired the Auckland data center of T4 Group, expanding its infrastructure footprint in New Zealand as demand for secure, locally hosted digital services continues to grow.

The acquisition includes T4’s purpose-built data center facility in Auckland, which will now be integrated into Datacom’s existing network of data centers across the country. The company said the move reinforces its long-term strategy to invest in scalable, high-performance infrastructure to support enterprise, government, and cloud customers.

Datacom confirmed that all existing customers hosted at the facility will continue to be supported without disruption, with services transitioning into Datacom’s operational framework. The company emphasized its commitment to maintaining continuity while enhancing service capabilities through its broader platform.

The Auckland facility is designed to deliver high levels of resilience, security, and connectivity, making it suitable for mission-critical workloads. By bringing the site under its portfolio, Datacom aims to strengthen its ability to provide end-to-end digital services, including cloud, managed IT, and data center solutions.

According to the company, the acquisition aligns with increasing demand for data sovereignty and locally hosted infrastructure, particularly among public sector organizations and regulated industries. Businesses are increasingly seeking in-country data center capacity to meet compliance requirements and ensure data security.

Datacom also highlighted the importance of proximity and low-latency infrastructure for modern applications, including those driven by artificial intelligence and real-time data processing. The expanded footprint will allow the company to better serve customers requiring high availability and performance.

Industry observers note that consolidation within regional data center markets is accelerating, as operators look to scale capabilities and meet rising demand for digital infrastructure. Acquisitions such as this enable providers to quickly expand capacity while leveraging existing facilities.

With the addition of the T4 Auckland data centre, Datacom is further strengthening its position in New Zealand’s digital infrastructure landscape, as the company continues to invest in supporting the country’s growing cloud and data-driven economy.
