FORT LAUDERDALE, USA, September 17, 2025- EdgeMode Inc., a U.S. firm specializing in sustainable high-performance computing, announced it has signed a binding deal with Blackberry AIF (BAIF), a Spanish infrastructure investor, to acquire a portfolio of five hyperscale data center campuses in Spain. The purchase is part of a plan to help meet growing demand for large, renewable-powered AI and cloud facilities in Europe.

Under the agreement, EdgeMode will own 75% of the joint venture, while BAIF will retain the other 25%. The campuses are in Malpica, Cáceres, Vianos, Córdoba, and Torrecampo, together able to support about 1.5 gigawatts (GW) of IT load. The total value of the assets is approximately USD 100 million.

A key part of the deal is its focus on sustainability. Each site will be Tier III compliant (which means strong reliability standards) and built with solar power plus battery storage. For each modular 10 MW block of computing power, there will be roughly 60 MWp (megawatts peak) of solar panels and 240 megawatt hours of battery storage. Energy will be supplied through long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs), helping ensure cost stability and fewer emissions.

EdgeMode aims to have the campuses ready to build (RTB) beginning in the first quarter of 2026, with phased rollouts through 2027. Modular deployment means they can scale capacity in stages depending on customer demand.

The deal gives EdgeMode an advantage in Spain’s fast-growing data center market, which has limited grid capacity in many areas. By tying solar power and batteries directly to these campuses, the joint venture avoids some of the energy supply issues that other developers face.

Charlie Faulkner, EdgeMode’s CEO, called the agreement “a transformational milestone... establishing a foundation for long-term growth in one of Europe’s most attractive but capacity-limited markets.”

BAIF’s CEO, José Mora, emphasized the goal of delivering Tier III data centers powered by clean, affordable solar energy.

This isn’t EdgeMode’s only European project. The company is also active in Marviken, Sweden, among other locations, and is planning to move up to Nasdaq within the next year to support its growth.
