Singapore, September 30, 2025- ENGIE Refrigeration has secured key contracts to supply advanced cooling solutions for data centres in Asia and Europe, reflecting growing demand for high-performance infrastructure driven by AI and digital transformation.
In Asia, the company will provide 28 QUANTUM Air chillers, totaling 58.8 megawatts of cooling capacity, to a leading data centre operator in South Korea. The chillers are designed to handle AI-driven workloads efficiently, offering precise performance even at partial loads and in free cooling mode. The oil-free technology, quiet operation, and high efficiency of the units aim to ensure operational reliability and sustainability.
ENGIE will also supply a custom switch cabinet and control system to optimize energy use and system performance, marking its sixth data centre deployment in the region alongside its local partner.
Meanwhile, in Europe, ENGIE Refrigeration is delivering 16 QUANTUM water chillers with a combined 36.8-megawatt capacity to a data centre in the Netherlands. Each unit is housed in a GENIUM cooling container with additional soundproofing to meet strict local regulations limiting noise to 70 decibels at the site boundary. The turnkey solution provides a fully equipped, energy-efficient cooling system while ensuring compliance with local environmental standards.
Jochen Hornung, CEO of ENGIE Refrigeration, said, “We at ENGIE Refrigeration are proud to contribute our many years of expertise to two new major contracts in the international data centre industry. In both projects, our focus is on providing customers with future-proof cooling solutions tailored to their individual on-site requirements. With our innovative solutions, we meet all the requirements for reliability, efficiency, and sustainability that are particularly demanding in the data centre industry.”
ENGIE Refrigeration offers a wide range of solutions for data centres, from traditional cooling and heating systems for high-performance facilities to heat recovery concepts and dedicated edge solutions. These new contracts in South Korea and the Netherlands underline the company’s commitment to providing innovative, energy-efficient infrastructure that supports the international expansion of the digital economy.
