Hong Kong – June 18, 2026 - Luda Technology Group is expanding beyond its traditional industrial manufacturing business with plans to enter the AI data center sector through the proposed acquisition of a controlling stake in Asia AI Data Centre & Quantum Technology Company Limited.
The Hong Kong-listed manufacturer announced it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to acquire a 55% equity interest in Asia AI Data Centre & Quantum Technology for a consideration comprising USD 400,000 in cash and approximately USD 535,000 in newly issued Luda shares. The transaction, if completed, would mark the company's first direct investment in AI computing infrastructure and data center development.
According to Luda, the target company is developing data center infrastructure and advanced cooling technologies for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing (HPC) deployments across Asia. The business is also pursuing projects involving AI-ready facilities and related digital infrastructure from its Hong Kong base.
The proposed acquisition follows Luda's announcement earlier this month that it was exploring opportunities in the global data center industry as part of a broader diversification strategy. At the time, the company outlined plans to expand into data center design and construction, cooling systems, AI infrastructure services, and hardware distribution to complement its existing steel manufacturing business.
If finalized, the acquisition would shift that strategy from planning to execution, giving Luda an operating platform in one of the fastest-growing segments of digital infrastructure. AI deployments are driving unprecedented demand for facilities capable of supporting high-density GPU clusters, making thermal management and liquid cooling increasingly important components of next-generation data center design.
The announcement also highlights Hong Kong's growing ambition to position itself as a regional hub for AI infrastructure. As enterprises and cloud providers scale AI services across Asia, operators are investing in facilities equipped with advanced cooling technologies, resilient power systems, and high-capacity networking to support increasingly power-intensive workloads.
Luda said the proposed partnership would leverage Hong Kong's position as a gateway between mainland China and international markets while supporting the delivery of AI infrastructure, data center solutions, and cooling technologies to customers across the region. The company also indicated that combining its manufacturing capabilities with Asia AI Data Centre & Quantum Technology's expertise could create new opportunities in AI infrastructure development.
The transaction remains subject to due diligence, the negotiation of definitive agreements, and customary closing conditions. Financial terms beyond the announced consideration were not disclosed, and the companies did not provide a timeline for completing the acquisition.
The proposed deal reflects a broader trend of companies outside the traditional digital infrastructure sector seeking exposure to the AI data center market, where demand for compute capacity, advanced cooling, and supporting infrastructure continues to attract investment from both industrial firms and financial investors.
