Barcelona, Spain-September 26, 2025 – Submer, a leader in liquid cooling and sustainable data center solutions, has announced a bold expansion into India with plans to build a manufacturing hub that will serve all of Asia.
Unlike many established markets, India’s data center sector still has room to leapfrog legacy cooling systems. Submer sees this as an opportunity. By locating production capacity in India, the company intends to integrate its liquid cooling solutions directly into high-performance compute hardware, cutting energy and water use while lowering operating costs.
Patrick Smets, CEO of Submer, described India’s lack of legacy infrastructure as a clean slate:
“We’re not just bringing our technology to India; we’re establishing a new paradigm … India’s digital transformation is unparalleled.”
To make this vision real, Submer will partner with OEMs and ODMs to embed its cooling systems into next-generation machines. The company will also open its own local manufacturing plant, making India a production base for Submer’s Asia-wide operations.
Beyond hardware, Submer is investing in skills development. The initiative is expected to generate over 5,000 jobs in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) roles, while training Indian engineers to support high-density, sustainable data centers.
Dev Tyagi, President of Submer UK, Ireland & India, affirmed the holistic straategy:
“By investing in skill development … we are creating long-term, high-value employment for Indian youth.”
This move stakes India as more than a market; it becomes a regional AI and data operations hub. As hyperscalers push into South Asia, Submer's approach could accelerate how next-gen data centers get built, with sustainability, local supply chains, and performance baked in from day one.
