Empyrion Digital Breaks Ground on First Thailand Data Center in Bangkok’s Bang Na District

Bangkok, Thailand - May 7, 2026 - Singapore-based Empyrion Digital has officially broken ground on its first data center project in Thailand, expanding its Southeast Asian footprint as demand for AI-ready and hyperscale infrastructure accelerates across the region.

The new facility, known as TH1, is being developed in Bangkok’s Bang Na district, an area increasingly emerging as one of Thailand’s major digital infrastructure corridors due to its strong connectivity ecosystem and proximity to enterprise and telecom networks.

According to the company, TH1 will deliver 20MW of IT load across a site spanning more than 17,000 square meters. The facility is designed to support hyperscalers, cloud providers, enterprises, and AI-driven workloads requiring high-density computing infrastructure. Operations are scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2027.

Empyrion said the data center has been purpose-built for next-generation AI and cloud deployments, incorporating advanced cooling technologies, including liquid cooling systems aimed at improving both Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) and Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE). The company described the project as part of its broader “green-by-design” strategy across Asia.

“The groundbreaking of TH1 represents an important milestone in Empyrion Digital’s continued expansion across Asia,” said Mark Fong, CEO of Empyrion Digital. He added that Thailand is becoming “an increasingly vital hub for hyperscale, enterprise cloud and AI-driven workloads in Southeast Asia.”

Alongside the groundbreaking, Empyrion Digital also signed a memorandum of understanding with TCC Technology (TCCtech) to strengthen connectivity and interconnection services at the facility. Under the agreement, TCCtech will extend its fiber-optic network into TH1 and provide managed connectivity services for customers operating within the site.

TCCtech’s ecosystem currently includes more than 50 network providers and direct connectivity to eight major internet exchange points in Thailand. The partnership is expected to improve routing diversity, latency performance, and regional connectivity for enterprises operating across ASEAN markets.

The project reflects Thailand’s growing importance in the regional data center market as operators and hyperscalers diversify infrastructure deployments beyond Singapore. Increasing AI adoption, cloud demand, and government-backed digital transformation initiatives have fueled a surge in new data center investments across Bangkok and surrounding provinces.

Empyrion Digital, a portfolio company of Seraya Partners, has been steadily expanding its presence in the Asia-Pacific region through developments in Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia. The Thailand expansion positions the company to compete in one of the region’s fastest-growing digital infrastructure markets.
