Seoul, South Korea - April 29, 2026 - LS Electric has secured a contract worth approximately USD 115 million to supply power infrastructure for hyperscale data center developments in North America, as demand for AI-driven computing capacity continues to surge.
The agreement covers the delivery of key electrical systems, including switchgear and distribution transformers, which are essential for ensuring a stable and continuous power supply in high-density data center environments.
The equipment will be deployed across large-scale facilities being developed by major technology companies, supporting the expansion of artificial intelligence and cloud computing workloads that require uninterrupted, high-quality electricity.
LS Electric indicated that the project will be supported through its growing manufacturing and engineering footprint in North America, including operations in Utah and Texas. These facilities will handle production, system integration, and delivery, enabling the company to meet the scale and technical requirements of hyperscale data center builds.
The contract reflects increasing investment in power infrastructure as data center operators scale capacity to meet rising demand. Industry estimates show global data center electricity consumption is expected to more than double by 2030, driven largely by AI and high-performance computing workloads.
LS Electric has been expanding its presence in the data center sector, particularly in North America, where operators are rapidly adopting advanced power systems, including microgrid-based solutions designed to enhance reliability and efficiency.
The company has also been investing in next-generation technologies such as direct current (DC) power distribution, which can improve energy efficiency by reducing conversion losses and supporting higher power densities required by AI infrastructure.
Executives highlighted that the North American market represents a key growth area, as hyperscale developers and cloud providers continue to invest heavily in digital infrastructure. Securing contracts with major technology firms is expected to strengthen LS Electric’s position as a supplier of mission-critical power systems.
The deal underscores a broader trend in the data center industry, where reliable and scalable power infrastructure is becoming a central focus alongside compute capacity. As AI workloads increase energy intensity, partnerships between data center developers and power equipment providers are playing a critical role in enabling the next phase of digital expansion.
With this contract, LS Electric is reinforcing its role in the global data center ecosystem, aligning its capabilities with the growing need for resilient and efficient power solutions in large-scale AI and cloud infrastructure projects.
