Bangkok, Thailand – June 22, 2026 - True Internet Data Center (True IDC) has launched construction of its seventh data center with an investment of more than THB 6 billion (~USD 182 million), expanding its AI-ready infrastructure portfolio as Thailand positions itself to capture rising demand for hyperscale cloud and artificial intelligence services across Southeast Asia.

The new facility, located in northern Bangkok, is scheduled to begin operations in the third quarter of 2027 and is designed to support hyperscale cloud providers, AI platforms, and enterprise customers requiring high-density computing infrastructure. The investment marks another step in True IDC's long-term strategy to strengthen Thailand's digital backbone and establish the country as a regional hub for AI-driven digital services.

According to the company, the campus has been engineered to accommodate next-generation AI and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads, with infrastructure capable of supporting both CPU- and GPU-intensive deployments. The facility will feature modular construction techniques to accelerate deployment while enabling future expansion as demand grows. It will also support both air- and liquid-cooling technologies, allowing customers to deploy increasingly power-dense AI systems.

A key feature of the project is its direct connection to one of Thailand's largest core network hubs, providing high-capacity domestic and international connectivity for cloud services, AI applications, and real-time digital platforms. The location in northern Bangkok was selected to diversify True IDC's geographic footprint while serving an area experiencing continued commercial and technology-sector growth.

The facility will be designed to meet internationally recognized operational standards, including Uptime Institute certification targets, while incorporating environmental and energy management practices aligned with ISO 14001 and ISO 50001. True IDC also plans to optimize power usage effectiveness (PUE) as part of its broader sustainability strategy.

The expansion comes amid accelerating investment in Thailand's data center sector, fueled by growing cloud adoption, AI deployment, and digital transformation initiatives. Global hyperscalers and colocation providers have increasingly targeted the country as an alternative regional hub, supported by improving connectivity, government-backed digital policies, and rising enterprise demand for local compute capacity.

Industry forecasts cited by True IDC project spending on AI and generative AI technologies across the Asia-Pacific region to grow nearly fivefold by 2029, highlighting the need for infrastructure capable of supporting large-scale AI training and inference workloads.

With the addition of its seventh data center, True IDC aims to provide global hyperscalers, public-sector organizations, and enterprise customers with expanded access to AI-ready infrastructure while strengthening Thailand's digital sovereignty and regional competitiveness. As AI workloads continue to reshape infrastructure requirements, the new Bangkok campus is expected to play a key role in supporting the country's ambition to become a leading digital and AI economy within ASEAN.
