Japan

Japan – Data Center Country Overview (APAC)

Japan represents one of the most mature and technologically advanced data center markets in APAC. Strong enterprise demand, high cloud adoption, and advanced digital infrastructure continue to support steady growth in hyperscale and colocation developments.

The country benefits from robust power infrastructure, reliable connectivity, and proximity to major enterprise and technology customers. Demand is further driven by AI workloads, content delivery, financial services, and disaster-resilient infrastructure planning.

While land availability and construction costs are relatively high, Japan remains a strategic location for mission-critical and latency-sensitive workloads. Secondary cities are increasingly attracting investment to support regional diversification.
